Karly Kauf is an attorney and partner at Chestnut Cambronne, where they represent and counsel homeowners associations and common interest communities across Minnesota and the Midwest. Karly has a wide range of legal experience and has successfully advocated on behalf of her clients at all stages of the legal process. One of Karly’s main areas of focus is helping with challenging owners and situations, working alongside board members and property managers to diffuse conflicts and support transparent and consistent communication and enforcement by the association. She also specializes in drafting, reviewing, and updating governing documents and policies,including efforts to modernize covenants to better reflect non-discriminatory language and current best practices in common interest communities in Minnesota.
Karly has been recognized as a Rising Star and Super Lawyer since 2020. They are a member of CAI Minnesota, including serving on the Legislative Affairs and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s Studies and Political Science from St. Catherine University and their Juris Doctorate at Mitchell Hamline University, where they served as editor in chief of the Hamline Law Review. Karly strives to make diversity, equity, and inclusion a cornerstone of their legal practice and everyday life, continuously working to find new ways to bring people together and uplift others.
When she’s not practicing law, Karly enjoys spending time with her partner and two sons, watching Minnesota sports including the Lynx and the Twins, and growing vegetables in their garden.
