Chestnut Cambronne has over forty years of experience representing clients in class action litigation both in Minnesota and nationally. Chestnut Cambronne has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in complex class actions addressing substantive legal questions in the fields of securities, ERISA, banking, antitrust, and consumer law. Chestnut Cambronne also has represented shareholders in derivative cases involving corporate management wrongdoing.
In the past several years, Chestnut Cambronne has served as lead counsel representing plaintiffs in cases resulting in significant recovery from defendants. In In re Xcel Securities, Derivative & "ERISA" Litigation, the efforts of Chestnut Cambronne’s attorneys led to an $80 million settlement for shareholders. Until 2009, this was the largest recovery for a class of shareholders in Minnesota and surrounding states. Chestnut Cambronne has also recently served as lead counsel in In re UnitedHealth Group Incorporated Shareholder Derivative Litigation, which resulted in corporate directors and officers returning over $900 million to the company for the improper backdating of stock options. This is the largest shareholder derivative recovery in history.
